Walkersville Developments Progress
Four projects in the Town of Walkersville continue at various stages of approval and development. The projects will add about 450 people (7.5%) to the population based upon housing numbers.
The largest of the projects will be the development of the Bell Farm on Fountain Rock Road. The development plans for over one-hundred homes. The main entrance will be on MD 194 at the existing entrance to the Walkersville High School and Walkersville Elementary School entrance; Antietam Drive will extend into this new neighborhood. Work began late last year with earth moving and preparation for homes to be built.
The latest development to come before the Town of Walkersville’s approval process, Parkside, started initial preparations late last year. Developers demolished most of the farm buildings on the property. A silo and farm house remain on the property while the debris from the demolished buildings are removed. Twenty-four homes will be built on the former farm at 8815 Biggs Ford Road. The developers also plan to transfer some of the property to the Town of Walkersville which will expand Walkersville Community Park.
Four buildings consisting of sixteen condominium units may soon be built on Glade Road across from Winterbrook.

Mill Run will add another twenty-two homes along Pennsylvania Avenue.
